Objective
Green Lies is an exploration of “Greenwashing” and how corporations use vague jargon to make themselves appear environmentally-friendly despite being the opposite. For this installation, my partner Nathan Hanks and I used augmented reality to uncover the truth behind Green Lies.

Process
This installation came with two main obstacles: The location of the installation was high-traffic and unappealing, and the augmented reality had to effectively contribute to the overall experience. For the location, we decided to incorporate elements both in the air and on the floor. We believed it was best to have the information at eye-level, but we also wanted something on the floor to ground the project and set it apart from its surroundings. For the augmented reality, we decided to add video and audio to make it more immersive, which was effective.

Takeaway
Green Lies gave me many opportunities for problem solving, and it taught me much about working on a team. I learned to better communicate my ideas through words, illustrations, and demonstrations. Furthermore, this project allowed me to practice my research and writing skills.
